About Me
Khaled Mohamed is a dedicated educator with a robust background in mathematics and statistics. Currently, he serves as a faculty member at Union County College and is a fully certified high school mathematics educator at Elizabeth Public Schools in New Jersey, a position he has held since October 2018. His journey in education is marked by significant roles, including Mathematics Leader at Manaraat Arriyadh International School during the 2014-2015 academic year and Fellow in Teaching Mathematics at University College London from 2010 to 2014. He also taught high school mathematics at LISA Academy from 2009 to 2010 and served as a graduate assistant in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Central Arkansas from 2008 to 2009, where he also instructed Arabic at the community language school in Conway, Arkansas. Khaled’s expertise extends beyond the classroom. From 2001 to 2007, he was a mathematics expert and education reform leader in N’Djamena, Chad, a role facilitated by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His international experience is further enriched by his in-service training in teaching mathematics at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland in 1995 and his tenure as a trainee at Armadale Academy in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in Mathematics Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, a journey he embarked on in the summer of 2017. Khaled holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Central Arkansas, earned in July 2009, and a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Education with a concentration in Mathematics from Ain Shams University in Cairo, earned in 1989. Khaled’s teaching repertoire includes advanced topics up to Calculus III, as well as mathematics for economics and discrete mathematics. He is also proficient in preparing students for IB and IGCSE examinations. An Egyptian native speaker of Arabic, Khaled enjoys reciting the Qur’an. In his personal life, he is an avid ping pong player and a seasoned cook, known for his signature dish: hot sauce spaghetti and kebab.
